MATRIX REVOLUTIONSI liked the first one, but this was just terrible, abominable, boring.... Anyone else want to kick that pretentious  bastard who just sat in that chair and kept using $20 words for no tangible reason other than to show off  in films 2 and 3? MATRIX REVOLUTIONSYou know, I haven't liked the series since the end of the first half of the first movie (like the Pantaleo character, I was wishing the hero had taken the blue pill). The set up was great, but once you knew what was going on it degenerated to a second rate action film. I don't know why they bothered to use the name "Matrix" in this last film, because aside from the tedious fight with Agent Smith at the end, the characters spent all of 5 minutes in the Matrix. Why did the good guys bother to develop the lumbering walking weapons (without armor to protect the humans) to fight a swarm of extremely agile mechanical octopi? Because the octopi machines were so stupid that instead of swarming their opponents like bees they moved into tight tentacle formation to provide a videogame like target for the good guys. Otherewise "the dock" should have been lost in seconds. I wouldn't be so picky except that the rest of the movie was so boring. I give it 3 stars as I'd give to any second rate science fiction with good special effects. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

UnderratedStrengths: Everything Weakness: Nothing Wow. How can anyone not love this movie?! I mean it's got everything! Action, suspense, drama, and incredible special effects! This is probably the best of the three Matrix movies (my favorite trilogy). I love the first and second movies, but this one had the Machine/Human war. Unlike the first and second movie , this one does not challenge your brain. It is an epic action/sci fi movie and nothing else. This is one of the best movies of all time! MATRIX REVOLUTIONSThis was an okay close to the series. Hey you wanted a machine, human war, you got one. The graphics and stuff were really good, and I like the whole Smith flying-fighting scene. But... okay, the peace thing I thought was lame. Though I don't suppose it would've hit off with the public if the humans lost, and it woundn't make sense if the humans won. But couldn't they think of something better than machine-human peace? Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

MATRIX REVOLUTIONSI'm so very disappointed! I mean I was a major Matix Fan. Both of the first two movies were so good what was the chances they would totally bomb on the last one. I'm sorry but the movie was terrible! What director kills the hero and the main character! Maybe a director from foregin films but nobody else is that stupid. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? MATRIX REVOLUTIONSWell...unlike everyone here it seems, I saw this movie at like...4:00AM on a Friday, but I thought it was Okay. The CGI was realistic, but the first beats this easy. This really isnt a movie that should have hard core fans, this is a movie either a stoner or a person that lost their remote at four in the morning would watch. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? MATRIX REVOLUTIONSAbout a half an hour into the movie it abandons any notion of plot in the battle of Zion. Its an hour of explosions, debris, and screaming. It was absolutly wonderful. From Neo's crucifix pose to the Oracle in the end of the movie the religious backround of the movie is also more obvious. If youre a hardcore fan of the Matrix you WILL like this movie. The wierd thing is this movie isn't even the best in the Trilogy. I could type a hang of a lot more about this movie but just go see it. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

MATRIX REVOLUTIONSMatrixFanatic1 went on quite a diatribe over the final Matrix movie. Interesting that we are lectured on critiquing movies as basically "not our place". My mistake for thinking this was a "ratings" website. The fact is MatrixFanatic1 did a nice job explaining nonsense. CGI effects are well done in most movies now. Most movies do not use nearly as many but they are all relatively well done so the fact that blows him/her away seems kind of pointless. The physical strength that went into the actors prep time and performance is straight out of an asylum as far a basis for rating the movie. The facts are very easy to understand. One need look no further than the box office totals. Both of the sequels underperformed BADLY. Revolutions performed so badly, even with CORE fans, that it is considered a bust financially. Why? The creative force behind the movies took a simple yet intelligent plot and turned it into a bunch of garbled nonsense. The 2nd movie was so poorly scripted I was just glad it was over and the bleeding had stopped. The plot was no better in Revolutions. There are numerous examples but I will note two big ones. The first is the race to Zion by the ship "Hammer" with Morpheus and company. It is treated like their making it is all that can possibly save Zion. Once they get there and do their thing we learn (what they should have known if they had half a brain) that by using the EMP it left Zion open to attack without defense. Gee, that was REALLY good script writing. Take a sequence that is hyped to the nth degree, play it out for 45 minutes and then let us know it was all a mistake and actually a huge screwup. The second issue is there is absolutely no explanation whatsoever as to what Neo must do or why. All that they really do is make it clear that Neo must go to the machine city (core) to face Agent Smith. The fact he can jack-in without tools is ignored when he gets there and is manually plugged in as usual. The showdown with Smith reveals one other fatal flaw in the plot... In the 1st film Neo is portrayed as a super human who has powers that can save mankind. Eventually he understands his power and overcomes his foes. In the second film he and the rest do a decent job carrying on that idea that they can succeed. Then comes Revolutions... Did anyone count how many times the Humans/good guys were stopped cold by the machines/bad guys? They gave up in the bar, they lost at Zion due to a scerwup and basically gave up as well. Neo, whith all his power, is beaten in a train station by a bum and gives up as well until Trinity rescues him. And finally, Neo gievs up in his battle with Smith. Now I have one last question... If Neo, as MatrixFanatic1 mentioned, knew the only way to end it with Smith was to die himself then why did he fight Smith for 20 minutes? Why not just waltz in, let Smith take him over, do his dazzling light thing and be done with it? The fact is the guys who wrote the last two films overthought the plot and made a clusterf*ck out of what could have been a landmark trilogy. Say what you want about their "physical" training and the CGI, the fact is movies that succeed usually have adequate to good plots MINIMUM. And let's not forget the acting. It wasn't the best in the first film but maybe the actors should have spent more time in acting class than in the gym. Perhaps that would have helped save a decent trilogy from a crappy plotin the final two films. End of my diatribe. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

MATRIX REVOLUTIONSI'm not going to go into long essay about the meaning of The Matrix films, any symbolism of the film or what purpose it serves. I've noticed everyone who watches these films gets something different out of them, and perhasp some take it too far. While the special effects, the art direction, cinematography and action is good, The Matrix Revolutions lacks some of the human element that is in the other two. The movie feels rushed, and in some cases perhaps insults your intelligence. The battle between the humans of Zion and the machines is spectacular at first then is loud, overblown and tiresome. The movie's best star(Hugo Weaving) only makes a couple of appearances, and the big climatic battle between Mr Smith and Neo isn't all that great until the very end. I found myself liking the look, more than the content of Matrix Revolutions. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

MATRIX REVOLUTIONSThis movie was lame. The whole train station scene was retarded. The french guy got punked out way to easy. Neo fights like a sissy in the real world. Then we're forced to watch morphus and the crew fly a ship for 2 hrs as the lamer characters defend club zion. The final fight was a Dragon Ball Z rip off and the ending sucked big time. They didn't even explain anything it just ended with the old bag and the architect (aka Colonel Sanders) talking at the park. WTF? O yeah Trinity dies and so does Neo. How do you like them apples? MATRIX REVOLUTIONSI see alot of people saying that this movie is a poor sequel. That the acting was poor and the CG wasnt as good as the second movie was. Or that it didnt come up to expectations. Thats really sad that people have nothing better to do than break down every sequence in a movie and thier sequels and rate it like they know how a movie should be made. Its gone from going to a movie, buying some popcorn, watching the end to a trilogy of movies that started in 1997 and ended in 2003. In which the people involved in these movies, worked harder and harder each sequel to produce more stunning effects then they did previously. And saying WOW that was awesome. Your talking about a movie where 80% is done in CGI.And the Zion Fight scene was totally mind blowing. All I could say is holy crap thats freaking AWESOME.Well That is totally awesome, not to mention hard as hell to do. All in the same keeping up with the scripts and the dialogue of the movie. There are alot of sad movies out there that deserve to be put down but this movie isnt a second rate movie thats better to be rented than seen on big screen. This movie did more CGI , Required more on the physical strengths and the abilities of the actors, and stuntmen, and programmers, and builders, designers, artists, and a whole army of people that worked 7 days a week for an entire year to produce a stunning move for your enjoyment. And you guys just sit there and piss and moan about it thats really sad.You complain about the end where the good characters die, Is this star trek? No its not the good guys dont always live, unless your living in a fantasy land where everything is perfect.I knew neo and trinity would die. Neo was a part of agent smith they both were connected by only neo's abilities .In order for smith to die neo would have to go. And would be fair share that trinity and neo die together in the same movie because they were in love and would die for each other. Anyways This movie deserves 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. And is up there in league with Lord Of the Rings and the Star wars movies. If you say you fell asleep in this movie more than likely your attention span is that of a 3 year old. MATRIX REVOLUTIONSMy opinion, to like this movie, you have to take the blue pill. "Revolutions" is better then "Reloaded". That sets the bar at about ground-- level. With ROCKY II, Aliens, Terminator 2, God Father II, as examples of sequels worthy of the originals;lets reset the bar.Pretend “Revolutions” directly follows “The Matrix”. Now do some Keanu math: High expectations – [(Empty digital spectacle + meaningless characters) – gutted original characters] x Stupefying “Wizard of Oz” plot turns =REVOLUTION IS BOGUS DUDE!! MATRIX REVOLUTIONSThe battle of Zion is indeed very well made, it was over 40 minutes long. That was one of the best Sci-Fi battle scenes i have ever seen. But the end fight between Smith and Neo was just way too long, i mean it could have just finished with a simple meaningful fight, instead Neo keeps on coming back and it just drags on. This third installment is has even more philosophies and religious beliefs. Finally, the ending was very open but somewhat satisfied. I still think the first movie was the best in the series. MATRIX REVOLUTIONSThe last movie of this trilogy is more action based than it is plot based (except for the very beginning and the end). This format is less of a drain on all audience members alike (Compared to the Archtect scene in "Reloaded"). As usual, the movie has good action and special effects (although they are not as flashy or in your face as in "Reloaded"). The downfall of the movie is its ending (to the movie itself and the trilogy). Here's a hint as well as a giveaway. If you can understand what the Architect is trying to explain to Neo in "Reloaded," then you already know the ending of the movie and the trilogy. Timeframe wise, the entire story turns out to be nothing more than a neverending wheel of time cycle (history or the story will always repeat itself). Overwhelmingly, many have been left disappointed with the ending over the few that have liked or loved it. The ending is also contradictory to the entire controlling fate aspect that was emphasized in the first movie. Also, one of the main character's roles (Morphious) is hardly influential at all comapred to Trinity and Neo. This is also very different compared to the first two movies. It's worth to see at least one time. Prepared to be let down though plot lovers and Morphius lovers. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

MATRIX REVOLUTIONSLOVED IT!!! As the final installment in the Matrix trilogy, it was a perfect ending to an awesome story! You definitely get your money's worth when you go to see this flick (which is hard these days with the cost of movies). The final scene is overwhelmingly good and the deep philosophical plot is in full-form. The best trilogy ever made...a real cinematic accomplishment that I'm proud to brag about! MATRIX REVOLUTIONSThis movie is horrible. I am not sure what the other people on this page were smoking when they saw it, but they must have been out of their mind. The writing was horrible, the plot was predictable and uninteresting. For most of the movie I was hoping that the machines would win and kill all of these whining pathetic characters. This movie was a greater dissapointment than Star Wars Episode I. Everything that was good about the first two movies was absent from this one. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

MATRIX REVOLUTIONSI ended up seeing this on the night after it opened, and it pains me to say that it wasn't up to expectations with respect to the storyline and the philosophical aspects of the movie. If you watched the other two for its special effects, though, you won't be disappointed. (Suggestion: if you haven't seen the movie yet, stop here, may contain spoilers.) With all of the great possibilities brought up by the philosophical questions brought up by the previous movies (questioning reality, choice, etc.,), the ending was a HUGE cop-out. I left thinking " . . . that's it?" I was really annoyed by the first part of the movie, too (train station)--they could have done so much more with it, but they just handed it to them rather then presenting a more interesting solution. I agree with roblimb in that they DEFINATELY didn't use the cool characters from the second movie nearly enough, another huge disappointment. Visually, the movie was stunning, the battle at Zion was excellent, my favorite part of the movie. But, sadly, the movie didn't come up to par nor even came close to expectations of what it could have been. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

MATRIX REVOLUTIONSDon't listen to the last guy who reviewed Revolutions, it did not suck. I would agree that the first one is the best of the three story-wise, but Revolutions is far from bad. Yes, some of the dialogue is wooden, and the beginning is slow, but the Battle for Zion will blow you away. There are some unexpected deaths, and I really cared about what happened to the people of Zion. Agent Smith is out of control, as are most of the fight scenes in this show. The final battle between Smith and Neo at the end had a pretty good conclusion, and I didn't expect it to end the way that it did. My only true complaint is that some of the cool characters introduced in Reloaded (Persephone, the Merovingian, the Architect, etc.) had barely even cameos in this one. Matrix purists may not like this, because only some questions are answered, but it is a damn entertaining flick. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

MATRIX REVOLUTIONS
Disappointing as a trilogy conclusion to the Matrix. Â None of the movies could be anywhere near as good as the first one given that the Big Reveal -- that what we perceive to be real is only a simulation -- could never happen again. Â That is essentially the main shortcoming with both of the sequels. Â That, and Jadda-Pinkett-Smith.
